Route History

Introduced in 1993, Service 17 is a residential route connecting Pasir Ris, Tampines and Bedok. It also serves housing blocks around Bedok North Road and industrial buildings around Bedok North Avenue 4 with connections to Bedok Town Centre. In Pasir Ris, this route compliments Townlink 358 for Pasir Ris Drive 4.

This route loops at Bedok Interchange, and buses proceed to the boarding berth after alighting passengers without laying over. This allows buses to return to Pasir Ris more quickly. In addition, it is the only route serving within Bedok Industrial Park. Double-deck buses cater to high demand from residents and industrial workers alike.

Service 17 is a wheelchair-accessible bus route (WAB) since 27 Jun 2011. In 2014, the Bus Service Reliability Framework (BSRF) was implemented on this route for a two-year trial.

The operating hours for shortworking trip 17A was enhanced to full day daily from 16 November 2014 under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme.

  1. I don’t think “Introduced in 2003” is appropriate because it never changed its route alignment and stops since introduction in 1993, just running patterns.
