  1. Wi had the pleasure of travelling on bus service no. 135 on 14th Nov.
Here I met the most friendly and courteous bus driver, Mr Lai Fook Loy. In Singapore or probably anywhere in a busy city in the world.
He welcomes each and every passenger with a smile and a “welcome” and as they alight, he says “goodbye, have a nice day”
And I noticed as I sat at the front of the bus, even people at the bus stops, or just walking past, give him a wave and a smile. And he replied to everyone of them. I asked him why he was so popular and well known and he replied modestly that he has been working the same route for many years and people know him. I think he is a fantastic role model for anyone in public service anywhere in the world.
A few years ago, I wrote a similar (though not as effusive) comment on driver Hasmah(?) on route 36.
Ps: please do not reveal my name if publishing this on your website.

    • Pruning the trees just to implement double decker buses for service 135? Any reason to justify why you said that? Afterall,135 service don’t seem to have much commuters during rush hour, I don’t see a point at all…
