Bukit Merah Bus Interchange


Bukit Merah Bus Interchange is located at Bukit Merah Central and serves the residential estates around Bukit Merah. Nearby facilities include small industrial buildings, a polyclinic and a library. This is one of the few bus interchanges that does not serve an MRT station.

Brief History:

Bukit Merah Bus Interchange commenced operations on 14 February 1981. Today, little has changed since its opening over 20 years ago, with no major renovations apart from re-roofing works in 2014 and the interchange layout largely similar.An overhead bridge over Bukit Merah Central was added after its opening.

General refurbishment works at the bus interchange were undertaken in 2013 to 2014. Contract VT360 was awarded to JS Metal Pte. Ltd. for Addition & Alteration Works, at a sum of S$1,183,200.00.

  1. Dear sir or mdm. Im currently working part time at great world city. The main purpose of me writing here is to report the loss of my ipad from either bus 5 or 273. I cant exactly remember which bus cause i was sleepy. The ipad has a brown casing cover and the screen ia cracked. If you found it, please call me. 81481348

The screen shows the estimate arrival of the next bus and i know there might be a time allowance of 2 to 3 minutes but i was at bukit merah interchange waiting for my bus and all of the timings stated has buses arriving 10 minutes earlier. I saw my alternative bus stopping at the red light and the driver rejected me when i asked to get on. What is the point of showing the estimated time arrivals when it is clearly inaccurate.
