In the 1990s, this terminal was renamed as Shenton Way Bus Terminal. By the mid-2000s, the terminal shifted to a new facility had been constructed at the junction of Palmer Road, Shenton Way and Keppel Road.
The present-day terminal has an entrance and exit at Palmer Road. No boarding and alighting is allowed at the terminal, and the final stop for buses is 03219 Aft Shenton Way outside the interchange, next to a mosque. The first stop for buses exiting the terminal is 03211 Bef Shenton Way along Palmer Road, opposite Hock Teck See Temple.
Shenton Way is used as a terminating point for bus services which connect the CBD with outlying estates. Service 400 and 402, which serve the Marina South area, also terminate at Shenton Way.
Service 70, 107, 162 and 700 will not serve the terminal on Saturday evenings, Sundays and Public Holidays.
In August 2015, it was announced by the Land Transport Authority that the present Shenton Way Terminal was to be relocated back north, next to Bestway Building opposite MAS Building at the junction of Prince Edward Rd and Shenton Way, as the current terminal sits at a site slated for development of the MRT Circle Line Stage 6.
