Principal operator: SBS Transit

The old Tuas Bus Terminal was located at the end of Upper Jurong Road in the 1970s, next to Tuas Fishing Village. When Tuas was redeveloped into an industrial estate, part of Upper Jurong Road was renamed to Tuas Road. Operations ceased when Boon Lay Bus Interchange opened in 1990.

In 1998, the present-day Tuas Bus Terminal was constructed and remains operating till today. The interchange was built with five sawtooth berths, but only one is being used today. There is an interchange office, toilets, and a NTWU canteen which usually serves workers from nearby factories in addition to bus drivers.

In the future, the terminal is expected to be moved to a new site at the junction of Tuas West Drive and Tuas Link 4, right beside the Tuas Link MRT Station of the East-West Line extension.

Integration with Tuas West MRT Extension Depot

In the near future, Tuas Bus Terminal will be moved to a new site further south at 3, Tuas West Drive, Singapore 638419, on the roof of Tuas MRT Depot. Forming part of the tender requirements of Contract 1685 is the Design and Building of the new Tuas bus terminal to be located on a section of the depot building roof slab.

The area designated for the proposed bus terminal is approximately 10,000 sq metres which is accessible via a ramp structure connecting directly to Tuas West Drive. Alternatively, the site can also be accessible via another ramp structure connecting to Tuas Link 4.

The future bus terminal would have a naturally ventilated Concourse Area with facilities such as 2 Passenger Service Offices, 2 separate Offices for Main and Secondary Operators, Administrative Office, Staff Lounge, Canteen and other rooms. Passenger lifts connect the ground level and the bus terminal.

For security reasons, the bus terminal, including its driveways and bus parking area is intended to be fully lockable and secured against illegal entry after operation hours and is intended to be maintained as restricted and controlled area with no access by unauthorized personnel.
